From some friends I recently heard that there is an amusing restaurant named “Schnuggenbock” in the small town called “Waldegg” just above St. Gallen on the border to the canton of Appenzell. Not only is the food quite good, but the whole restaurant is made up in a very traditional, appenzeller-style wodden house. During the dinner, you can expect some funny events going on, like lights turning off and a storm chasing outside. This shall put you back like some 100 years and experience a little bit how it used to be in such old houses back then.
To be honest, for Swiss people it might not be that special. Children might like it, though – and specially tourists visiting Switzerland.
The nice part of this evening was to walk back to St. Gallen in the fresh snow. We took some flash lights with us and were surprised that there was a normal street leading down to St. Georgen, a part of St. Gallen city. The walk took us about 45 minutes and was really enjoyable – I can definitely recommend it, whether during night or daytime, winter and summer seasons!
